Breast Augmentation

Types of Breast Augmentation Surgery

Many women want to have large, firm, shapely, and attractive breasts that are proportionate to their body. Breast augmentation surgeries can be performed in 4 ways. The variety of prostheses used here can be placed in the breasts through incisions made from:

  • the armpit region,
  • incisions around the nipple,
  • incisions from under the breast,
  • incisions from the navel.

What Should Be Considered After Breast Augmentation Surgery?

These procedures have different advantages and disadvantages. For example, incisions made around the nipple do not leave any scars on the breast. However, this method can damage the milk glands. Therefore, it is not recommended for women who have not yet had children. Surgeries performed with incisions made under the breast are the most preferred. They may leave a slight scar, but since they do not damage the woman's milk glands, they do not pose an obstacle to breastfeeding. It is the method most preferred by women who have not had children or who are considering having children again. In the methods using incisions from the armpit and above the navel, there are no scars around the breast. The scars disappear completely after a few months, but these areas are not suitable for placing silicone implants. Breast augmentation surgery can take approximately 1 hour. Severe pain is not experienced after the surgery. Therefore, the patient can stay for a few hours or a day, according to their own preference. In general, rest is recommended for 2 days. A feeling of fullness in the breasts may occur for a few weeks. Also, there is a possibility of swelling in the breasts for about 2 days after the surgery.
